The previous attachment is for manually running a second instance of screensaver, which immediately terminates. Here, there is a "real" run, with activation and deactivation of the screensaver.
Anyway, my report proved to be misleading. Setting the theme in gnome- screensaver-preferences *does* have effect, but *not* in the same session. Given that most other settings in Gnome have effect immediately, this is confusing. I think, at the very least, a warning should be added to the gnome-screensaver-preferences applet, saying something like "settings will have effect on next login". (and this is likely upstream ticket). ** Attachment added: "debug log of *real* gnome-screensaver run" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10440029/gnome-screensaver-debug1.txt -- When locking manually, theme setting is ignored, random hack starts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
