You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-network
I start up the Gutsy from CD with NO ethernet cable connected. Then I use the Network applet to set the Wired connection using static IP address. I click to apply changes and I plug in the ethernet cable. The icon is signalising that I'm connetced to network, however not really. ifconfig shows I have no IP address. I must do /etc/init.d/networking restart and only then the network starts working. ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Network applet dosen't activate ethernet connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
