Binary package hint: vino
Rather an enhancement request than a bug:
Please change the standard Gnome Remote Desktop 2.18.1 notification icon
to red rather than blue so that the target desktop has a reminder that
there is an RD connection. Perhaps even a red icon that flashes every
5-10 seconds or so would be even better, *and* a message/popup that a
remote session has terminated.
The problem is that the current GRD icon blends too well with the other
icons on the task panel. The target desktop is made aware of the initial
connection via the "Another user is controlling..." popup. However the
popup is only about 3 seconds & then the blue icon appears. If a user is
away from the desktop at the time of the connection, it is unlikely that
they will notice the connection icon in the panel. Obviously, one can
set the RDP connection properties to not allow a connection without the
target permission. However even then the target desktop may forget the
RDP connection after some time.
BTW: thanks for providing the RDP icon in Feisty.
