You have been subscribed to a public bug:
[gutsy usability] Search button (or CTRL-F) in Nautilus properly makes
search bar visible on place of the Location bar. However one expects
that consequent pressing of the Search button (or CTRL-F) would hide the
Search bar and show the Location bar back (in the previous view state).
In easy words, Search button should work as on/off button.
