please keep in mind that to connect from gutsy to gutsy you need to Ctrl-Alt-F1 and 'sudo X :1 -query xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' on client side. To connect from feisty (maybe edgy too?) to gutsy you need to switch to simple style for remote access too on server (gutsy) side. All in all I think the problem is partially solved...
