When compiling a different window manager or desktop environment, the
best way is to install to /usr/local, yet this creates problems when the
compiled program installs its session .desktop file in
/usr/local/share/xsessions, as it is not recognised by KDM. (Havent
tested GDM)
Please include /usr/local/share/xsessions in the path for GDM and KDM to
look for valid .desktop files.
