If that happens with gstreamer xine mplayer that's not a totem issue but
rather an xorg, driver or linux one. What is the exact reference of your
video card? Could you attach you /etc/X11/xorg.conf and
/var/log/Xorg.0.log? Do you have anything to /var/log/messages or
/var/log/syslog about that?
