I tried copying and moving files by drag/drop with Nautilus from an
internal hard drive to an external hard drive. All files (most were
music files of various formats and jpg files) that had special
characters such as : " ? etc. would not copy until I removed these
characters from their name. I would just get an error that the files
could not be copied and ask if I wanted to retry or skip. This made the
simple task of transferring my daughters 6000 music files and 5000
photographs very long because I had to rename several hundred files. I
am using Ubuntu 7.10. Thank you.
