It seems this bugreport should be splitted in 2:

1. DHCP should be described as "Automatic Configuration (DHCP)" in 
network-admin's interface properties dialog. This is really important, because 
most users don't know what is DHCP, but they will understand, what is automatic 
configuration :)

2. Setting DHCP to defauls.

I think network-admin should be more intelligent in this case - it should try 
to detect DHCP server on the network when user tries to conigure network 
connection and if it detects - then default should be DHCP, of course, but if 
DHCP server isn't detected on the interface, then default should be static IP, 
I think.

Maybe network-manager, which will be in Dapper as default will solve DHCP 
default's problem?
