You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3
The bug is that with some mp3's (http://www.devteam.org/users/mccorkle/mp3/Chrono_Trigger_Black_Wind_Rising_OC_ReMix.mp3 is an example) the mp3 playback becomes muddy (listed to around 1:20-1:35 in that mp3 to hear what I'm talking about). It has been fixed in the newer version of Fluend's mp3 decoder. I first reported this bug to the songbird group, then tracked it up to gstreamer, and those guys pointed out that the version of flump3dec is "fairly old and known-to-be-buggy". If someone could point me to a quick howto on updateing the gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 package, I'd be happy to help.
