Hardy always starts with 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution. But the monitor
has 1680 x 1050 pixels. I can set the resolution to 1680 x 1050 with
gnome-display-properties but after the next boot the resolution is 1280
x 1024 again. xrandr detects the correct resolutions but why doesn't
select it the highest one?
