It isn't a kernel bug, that much I can assure you. Here are my reasons:
1. It only happens in X.
2. It only happens when Desktop Effects (Compiz Fusion) is turned on.
As such, posting kernel will be irrelevant and unnecessary in this bug
report. I will be subscribing the Ubuntu Desktop Bugs team to this bug
again.
