/var/crash does not contain any crash file. Your 'if' failed: despite gnome-desktop being installed, I am not using it. Nautilus is launched with the following command: $ nautilus . It then sets a desktop which is simply another X window. When changing the X background with feh, nautilus crashes. So I suggest you reopen this bug.
