It seems you have read my bugreport not accuratelly, so I'm pasting some 
sentences from the bugreport:
Also you should add xdialog package to ubuntu main (and change xdialog 
dependancy from suggests to recommends) or, better, patch pppoeconf to use 
zenity.

When xdialog is installed then pppoeconf becomes not text-based, but graphical 
configuration tool, so I'm suggesting to add attached pppoeconf launcher and 
decide what to use - Xdialog or Zenity in Ubuntu Dapper, because it seems there 
are not enough time to teach gnome-system-tools how to configure pppoe.
If you don't have enough time to patch pppoeconf to use zenity I could try to 
help :)
