Sam, if you read the upstream bug you will note that the feature is controversal and the maintainer to use the trash for something else than deleting because than can be confusing and make you destroy some datas if you get confused by either it'll eject or drop the content of your device -- Dragging remote volumes to Trash should unmount them https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/12682
