Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

When you reboot with a static ip address, upon logging in your internet
connection will not work. However if you go into network manager and change
the address to another number it will work. You can then change it back if you
wish.
Hardy 8.04
running 64bit generic on a dell AMD Sempron Processor c521
installed using alpha3 and have upgraded since that point.
couldn't use apport because I had no internet connection when it tried to send
the information.
(A good feature for bug reporting might be to allow the bug reports to be sent
later when the internet connection is working or to save to a file where it can
be sent using a different computer for user that can't get the internet
connection to work)
