Hi, I also don't see this issue on a fresh hardy install, but it may be an upgrade problem.
Can you provide some more information for me please? Firstly the versions of Epiphany and gnome-control-center you have installed. Next could you attach /usr/share/gnome-control-center/gnome-default-applications.xml to the report. Finally is there an executable named "epiphany" in your path? Does /usr/bin/epiphany exist? Is it execuatable?
