I can confirm this, on dapper around flight6.
Indeed, hibernation doesn't work:
$ lshal | grep can_suspend
power_management.can_suspend_to_disk = false (bool)
power_management.can_suspend_to_ram = true (bool)
=> Solution: Don't show the hibernate button if it's not supported. Only sleep
is supported for ibooks so far.
