I need help with this too... I'm a total newb to Linux, and Ubuntu was the one I wanted to go with because of the easy interface and the supposedly no problems with most computers. But the main thing that I cannot do is listen to music because my sound does not work. It has not been working since the installation, and I've tried several different things to try and fix this, but I still cannot get my sound to work. See here:
