Lionel, is policykit-gnome included as part of Xubuntu-desktop? It doesn't appear to be, and without it, items like users & groups, network, time & date, system services, etc (the primary gnome-utils under applications > system) do not work.
installing policykit-gnome fixes this problem. ** Changed in: xubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: policykit-gnome => xubuntu-meta Assignee: (unassigned) => Lionel Le Folgoc (mrpouit) -- [users-admin] Unlock -> "Could not authenticate.
