You have been subscribed to a public bug: The "Run Application" dialog box works 90% of the time, but sometimes it just doesn't do anything. E.g., "firefox" works 90% of the time, but at others, it doesn't do anything, so I either have to start it via a Launcher icon or via a terminal.
