Thank you for reporting this bug, However, we still need some information 
before the developers can decide what has to be done. Please >attach< the 
output of the following commands, executed in the Terminal:
gnome-power-bugreport.sh
hal-find-by-capability --capability "battery"
gconftool --recursive-list /apps/gnome-power-manager
uname -r

And before you unplug please execute this command:
lshal -m
It is something like syslogs and will return all things hal does to the 
terminal window you've executed the command in. Please now do what causes the 
problem and copy and paste the output generated in a file and attach that too.
