OK, I've checked, and effectivly, /etc/skel is empty. For information: the 'configure you're settings' dialog did show up, and I promptly passed it by (local mail, sendmail outbound....) since I wanted to have a look at evo without using it for my servers, and that's where the message struck -- address book missing on first start https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/38016
