Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

At some point over the last few days of updates the display brightness
slider disappeared from the gnome-power-preferences dialog and I can no
longer control the display brightness of my Sony VAIO VGN-CR120E.
Display brightness is still available if I boot the Heron Alpha 6 Live
CD.

>From preferences help it appears there may be a new Brightness Applet,
however it is not showing up on my task bar and I don't see this listed
as an issue for Beta. I have attached the output from gnome-power-
bugreport.sh and will attach gpm.conf.values shortly.

Also xorg.conf doesn't seem to know what kind of video device I have, is that
the problem?
Section "Device"

Section "Monitor"

I would be happy to supply additional info if you can direct me to
scripts or commands to capture what you need. Thanks!
