Hi Fabien I can confirm this issue, i create a couple of files starting with one using 40 chars, other with 41, 42, 43 and 77 chars, this without considerate the file extension as part of the name, and just the first 3 are shown using the gvfs ftp backend, this does not apply to gvfs sftp nor another ftp clients so this isn't a limitation of the ftp protocol.
If you think there is more information relevant to this issue you can provide, please do it in the bug report i open upstream: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=524880 If you don't have a GNOME bugzilla account and/or don't want to create it, please comment here mentioning this so i could update the report upstream. Thanks. ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Triaged -- Gvfs ftp module doesn't display file whose name is longer than 42 characters https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
