In the "Current Session" tab of the session preferences, Nautilus is listed with the plain "nautilus" command, which certainly should open a window. I assume that Nautilus is initially launched with a certain parameter (since no window appears) and that parameter probably should be used for the session restart command if that's possible. My gnome-volume-manager is listed with "--sm-disable", so it seems to be possible. -- new window when restarted https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/25502
