Looks like the same problem occurs on Breezy/5.10 with /lib/ld-2.3.5.so

Problems experienced running wine, bugged here:

Can't confirm that ld-2.3.5.so was broken, however removing prelinking & 
reinstalling kernel-image-686 and initramfs-tools has resolved the problem.
