It seems to be a Xorg configuration problem at least for the -nv driver. F-Spot
crashes after starting slide show with F-Spot and -nv driver but it works fine
after running "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" and restarting X so I guess
glx or something like this was missing. I haven't rechecked it with the
proprietary driver but slide show works fine now with free one. The cpu usage
is still high but it reacts fine to commands and changes and there is no 3d
acceleration within the nv driver so it is fine.
Can you confirm that a creation of a new xorg.conf helps?
