I added a new user, and it works in the new user's account.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gconftool --get /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/[EMAIL
PROTECTED]/enable
true
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gconftool --get /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/[EMAIL
PROTECTED]/command
evince-thumbnailer -s %s %u %o
Indeed, postscripts and pdf.gz files both thumbnail just fine.
So I'm guessing there's something odd with the gio/gvfs config for my
account that's causing gvfs to report pdfs with the wrong content type.
