Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vinagre
Often I find that while vinagre is connected to another PC, it will continually clear the clipboard. It doesn't always do this so there might be a trigger. The behaviour when it happens, can be shown by trying to copy/paste files, eg in nautilus select copy so that the status bar says that the file will be copied if you select the paste command (well, mine says moved but I think that's a separate language pack translation error) and then chose Nautilus' Edit menu. Paste will be greyed out or (flickering between greyed-out and normal) if vinagre is emptying the clipboard. At this point it is not possible to use the paste command. If you close vinagre the copy/paste functionality returns; if you run it again, copy/paste is OK until you connect back to the same machine. If you connect to a different machine instead, copy/paste might still work. I have noticed this happening in vinagre on two separate PCs, one running the i386 version of Ubuntu and one running the AMD64 version, talking to other PCs running Hardy, Gusty, and Feisty. Version info: Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 RC vinagre 0.5.1-0ubuntu1 nautilus 2.22.1-0ubuntu1 If it helps I've attached an strace of vinagre when the problem was occurring. The copy/paste functionality was running fine right up until the point at which I connected to the remote machine. After this, 'Paste' appeared normally in the menu until I did the copy command, whereupon it started to flicker. At this point it was not possible to do a paste. ** Affects: vinagre (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- vinagre continually clears clipboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
