Why is this being rejected? This is a very strange thing to do since the problem isn't resolved yet (plus the upstream bug is still there, albeit not being actively investigated). Please reopen and leave open - if this bug is closed, this issue gets very little visibility (ie it's hard for people to find out bugs in existing releases).
BTW, further investigation should be done upstream, but this investigation hasn't happened yet...
