On Hardy Heron (which has Eye of GNOME 2.20.0 installed by default),
open a terminal and do:

1. wget 
http://homepage.mac.com/sc42koi/tiffcentral/samplefiles/Flowers1.Zap0.BP.LZW+NONE.btf.tif
2. eog Flowers1.Zap0.BP.LZW+NONE.btf.tif

Expected results:
Eye of GNOME should show me the image.

Actual results:
eog reports false assertion and then exits. exact output is this:
EOG-ERROR **: file eog-image.c: line 1110 (eog_image_real_load): assertion 
failed: (priv->image != NULL)
aborting...
