Third generation MacBook (intel). I have attached a monitor to my
MacBook using the mini-DVI-DVI adapter. Both the MacBook screen as well
as the monitor are cloning and the MacBook screen is showing the wrong
resolution.
Changes using the GUI for Screen Resolution are not being saved.
Using the Screens and Graphics GUI if I make any changes I get an error
along the lines of "Configuration failed".
Resolution is fine on the MacBook when I disconnect the external
monitor.
