Thanks for your patience with my stubborn version of the bug, but now it seems to work fine!! It hesitated, and my heart fell, but then it unfurled just as it should, and furled up again when I reclicked the button. All my earlier settings are gone, but the new ones work fine.
I do have that most recent version of the evolution-data-server package. Thanks, everyone!
