I think we can follow the "building from a debdiff guide" (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPackagingGuide/BuildFromDebdiff) from the wiki documentation of ubuntu. I haven't tested the patch yet (nor I never used .debdiff as I am a new .deb user) but I think the steps are: 1) download build-essential fakeroot devscripts 2) download the source of evolution-data-server package (with its libraries) 3) apply the Bacher patch 4) rebuild the package 5) install the new .deb
