Actually gdm has version 2.20.5-0ubuntu3 in intrepid branch,
The problem is if the first argument is "stop", initscript stop routine doesn't
call usplash_down command before log_begin_msg subroutine.
So the usplash is show too later during halt/reboot sequence ... may be 1 or 2
seconds before reboot. (during umounting filesystems).
I found the problem and written a small patch to fix it.
