Upon submitting my bug report, I tried playing a file within Rhythmbox - it worked. It seems all is okay now. I'm not sure what happened, as I didn't do anything differently and tried everything before submitting my request to get them to play. Should the problem arise again, I'll play around with the issue a bit more before reporting it. Thanks.
