Ubuntu 8.04
fresh install
Kernel 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
cpu Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz
when some program use too much CPU for some time (for some seconds,
sometimes a minute), the system reboots without any error or warning,
just like a power failure.
to repeat the behaviour, just open GIMP, load some big photo and make some CPU
intensive operation on it.
For example, Ive installed gimp greycstoration plugin, and when applying it on
an image, the cpu gets the 100% load. now just wait some seconds or a minute or
so and voila, the machine reboots.
Maybe something kernel related?
