You have been subscribed to a public bug: When login at work using my local drive user account, but connected to my employer's network, my Gnome panels are frozen for 1 or 2 minutes until a timeout expires. Once the timeout expired, the Gnome panels become responsive. However, applets "OOFIID:Gnome_BrightnessApplet" and "OOFIID:Gnome_MixerApplet" die (see attached screenshot).
This occurs once in a while. I cannot figure out what network dependency does Gnome have to my job's network. The first issue would be to find a way to enable debugging to trace what is going one. Attached, my .xsession-errors, but it is not helpful. It does not occur if I am not connected to any network or connected to a network other than the one at work.
