Public bug reported:
Since Hardy, I can't get the GDM Settings dialog to open anymore. I have
installed Hardy on three computers now (2 of them laptops, the other
not, all fresh installations) and on none of these machines is it
possible anymore to open the dialog. It worked fine in Feisty. Even
trying to open it from the console using sudo does not work. All
processes stay in the process list until killed.
As a workaround, you can of course edit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf manually, but
you have to know of its existance...
