I recently added the Network Monitor applet to my menu bar. The "Sent" value in "Connection Properties" window reset after about 5GB of downloads. It appears the packet count remains accurate, but the GB equivalent isn't. This may be related to bug 226284 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-netstatus/+bug/226284). The values packet values continue to increment with no apparent issue. Attached is a screen shot.
