Public bug reported:
This is on 8.04 Hardy, but I've seen this problem for several months
(ever since I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy Beta, 2.6.24-16-generic). I
generally do updates daily.
When selecting an open window in the Window List (on the bottom panel
for me), X will freeze up entirely. The mouse will move, but nothing
responds at all, and even control+alt+backspace does nothing - I have to
do a hard reset.
The lockup doesn't happen every time a window is selected, but it
happens reliably enough for me to not use the Window List at all.
I've been using AWN to switch between programs in the meantime, but I
much prefer gnome-panel; I'd rather not hear the constant "hey, is that
a Mac?" comments from the un-initiated.
Can anyone relate?
