I followed your proposal, but while system was up and running I could not catch any segfaults. As said, I never observed Nautilus crashing.
I now checked the timestamps in /var/log/messages and found/concluded: it happend when issuing 'reboot' using the graphical way in the GNOME panel-applet (did not check shutdown till now). It is not logged in 'dmesg' so it is happening during shutdown of the system. I will try to further pin it down by stopping 'gdm' and 'init6' from a virtual terminal. The way to record a backtrace is not applicable as far as I understand? -- nautilus regularly causes segfaults https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231725 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
