Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nautilus
Right-click any file or directory and choose "Open with other
application" from the context menu. The "Open With" dialog gives me list
of applications. Some of these applications, like "Google Earth", "XMMS
Music Player", and "BitTorrent" are no longer installed on my system.
Either I removed them myself, and some of them were even pulled from
Ubuntu. In fact, on my system, "XMMS Music Player" is listed three times
(!)
On top of that, there seems to be no way of removing these dead apps
from the list.
Also, the list is not sorted by name. Ugly and inconvenient ... should
this be a seperate bug report?
It would be nice if the list of applications shown in the "Open With" dialog
would:
- not include applications that have already left the building.
- not show duplicates
- be alphabetically sorted
