Actually, rather than reverting my terminals to 80x25, it swiftly
crashes gnome-terminal. It doesn't do this every time, but if I play
around with various terminal configurations (number of open windows,
sizes, number of tabs), I can eventually make it segfault by editing the
prefs as you suggest.
