Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I have tried this with Rhythmbox 0.11.5 along with aMSN 0.97+final and
Pidgin 2.4.1, I am attempting to make it tell my contacts what song is
currently playing from a .pls file. Rather than reporting the data sent
by the stream, it is reporting the information presented within the
playlist view. This is not desirable.
How to reproduce (using strictly Ubuntu packages):
1. sudo aptitude install pidgin-musictracker
2. Go to pidgin, and select Tools > Plugins
3. Enable and Configure the MusicTracker plugin
4. Play a radio stream
5. Add yourself to another account in aMSN
6. Notice the unintentional result in your contact list.
Expected results:
It should report the correct Artist and Song Title details from Rhythmbox that
is displayed in the libnotify popups and in the section shown in "Small
Display" mode - from below functions at the top of the UI.
This is filed on Rhythmbox because a similar plugin for aMSN does
exactly the same thing, this is easier to reproduce, but outside the
scope of Ubuntu (the plugin isn't packaged).
