when logging in through GDM, I don't see a gnome-session process.
everything appears to load fine, but this causes probems when using
remote desktop apps like nomachine (nx, freenx). I can workaround this
by using a .xinitrc and exec'ing gnome-session from there instead of the
default option in gdm.
