Hello there, just wanted say that you are not alone with this problem: My system relevant info is: -HP Pavilion Laptop -Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.4 Ghz w/ NVIDIA chip -Resolution 1680x1050, 50Hz -Have upgraded to Heron from Gutsy
The issue definitely looks like is an incompatible screen resolution whenever we try to switch the user, so there has to be somewhere in this mechanism where it has to take the default user resolution instead of defaulting to one that is not compatible. Happy to help debugging, just let me know what I need to do (send xorg logs perhaps?)
