After distant-upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy, rebooting an setting the language to
German just prior to login, the Gnome main menu displays some identifiers in
English (for example Applications, Places, System) and some in German (most
menu items below them, for example 'Büro', 'Entwicklung'. 'Einstellungen').
Most Gnome applications are in English (for example Rhythmbox Music Player)
although locale prints "LANG=de_DE.UTF8". ~$ env|grep 'LC_\|LANG' prints
GDM_LANG=de_DE.UTF8."
This was not the case in Gutsy.
"~$ uname -a; Linux MD97600 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC
