Same issue is here also. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) with Firefox-3.0b5. I connect to the internet via dial-up mobile-phone-modem and with gprs subscription. Whenever I launch Firefox it always starts in Offline mode, and it doesn't matter whether I'm connected to the internet or not, it does the same, always.
